This is the first one to use antigravity propulsion to lift off from the moon. They were afraid the single-use engine igniter might not light the lunar ascent engine, and there was no backup. Per William M. Tompkins.

@@SlickBack-cq4qd the default is that we did not. There is footage direct from nasa (featured by Bart Sibrel) of entirely faking being in deep space by showing a round port-hole window and lying and saying it is the entire planet earth. The craft was in low orbit (there is a full ability to launch people into low orbit). Nasa has also admitted repeatedly that it's not possible to safely put people through the VAB, the technology does not exist. If the technology does not exist now, it's laughable to think it existed in the technology dark ages. Fortunately, the moon story is harmless in many ways--except for the massive amounts of blackmailing that is undoubtedly done to the US government. Basically no one can document how we can put people through the VAB, how we can safely get people to and from the moon. No such drawings or plans exist.

These men absolutely amaze me still as to what they went through and all they achieved! The really AWFUL things "they" did to these men and called testing was torture! They didn't even know what to test for let alone how to do it so they made them suffer for nothing. Not the right stuff ... the BEST STUFF and they did SO much even decades after the Mercury program. Alan Shepard went up first the month and year I was born. Gordon Cooper went up when I was 2 years old. I was born in the space age and just never really got it until much later in my life. When I was a teenager the Voyagers were sent into space and knew about them only later and to this day they ABSOLUTELY FASCINATE ME! They are still voyaging on.. or as far as we know. The youth of today just really don't get it. My kids are both pushing 40 and even they just don't get it. The new age I guess. I am PROUD to have been born into the space age and new tech age. I just don't like that now there is so much space junk out there. that bothers me. RIP JOHN AND SCOTT And all the Mercury ASTORNAUTS! best of the best of men.

I am impressed by the level of culture he exhibited at the time. In fact, it would be nice if most people took advantage of his advice “the better you speak, the language, the more you understand things. And “, in particular, do my best to abide by that particular advice because, speaking the language, the best possible allows you to communicate, and to understand others in a more precise manner. I am glad people like Michael Collins had the time to give us an example, and I hope we all can follow it.
